Mozilla have a rather unusual style of delivering updates – they normally do security updates and bugfixes separete from the major improvements to their products, so lately, they were getting ready to release two separate versions of Firefox – 3.6 and 3.7. However, 3.7 was cancelled for now and it looks like it won’t be coming out soon – 3.6 should be released pretty soon though, and in fact its RC1 is already available for download. Some of the features included in the new version are an easier way to change the program’s skin using personas, more stability for third-party software, WOFF font format support, and increased startup times.

The browser also supports HTML5 now, as well as DOM and CSS technologies associated with the HTML5 standard. Overall, it’s a pretty good update, so we advise you to download it – and let us know what you think. Meanwhile, those of you waiting for the more major improvements will have to wait a bit, though we’re sure the wait will be well worth it. [ Via Softsailor ]
